This book focuses on the structure of destinations and draws together two approaches: one dealing with the spatial structure of destinations, the other with their organizational structure. Each of these approaches provides the scope to consider a broad range of destination features. The spatial structure of destinations concerns the physical location, distribution, configuration and interconnectedness of products, services and actors and the factors which underlie the resultant patterns of these. Organizational structure, as used here, refers to the make-up or composition of destinations and the various configurations and ways in which and the extent to which multiple actors, collectively and individually, behave and interact to produce the experiences sought by tourists. The book has 10 chapters, an author index, and a subject index.
